SINGAPORE ; Underwater world

The Underwater World is located below the island's surface, giving rise to its name. A ticket to the Underwater World includes admission to the Dolphin Lagoon as well.

A 83-meter travelator (train-like transportation carriage) moves visitors along the entire oceanarium, via a submerged 6.0mm thick acrylic-window, forming a tunnel. From this tunnel, visitors can see a variety of marine animals, including stingrays, turtles, moray eels, sharks, coral reefs and much more.

The Underwater World provides an array of educational, environmental and edutainment-based programs and projects, such as the Ocean Ambassador, Living in the Ocean and Coral Club. The popular oceanarium also offers several exclusive marine-themed venues for functions.

The Dolphin Lagoon is part of the Underwater World attractions, and is home to several Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins, commonly known as the pink dolphins. A variety of performances are scheduled at the Dolphin Lagoon, mostly held during weekends, and some visitors are allowed to interact with the dolphins under the trainer's supervision. The ticket for Underwater World does not include the interaction experience at Dolphin Lagoon, and interested parties must purchase a token for the activity.

The Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon, in combination, offers several adventures for the visitors to participate in. These include Marine Discovery, Dive With The Sharks, Dive With Dugong, Dive With Sharks and Dugong, Meet The Dolphins, Swim With The Dolphins and more.

In end December 2006, the Underwater World Singapore was bestowed with three more attractions. The highlight is the Fish Reflexology, Singapore's first spa based on natural treatment done with the use of live fish. Here, two species of doctor fish simply nibble away at your feet to remove dead skin naturally. The other two new additions are an interactive stingray feeding pool and a small marine reef species display.

Whenever you visit Singapore, you'll have plenty of places to explore and discover in a highly modernized environment. Singapore is well-known for its friendly Asian hospitality and a hotel in Singapore will provide you with all the services and amenities needed to have a comfortable stay, while enjoying everything Singapore has to offer.
